Janic with other details: US preparing documents Serbia should recognise Kosovo

The US will present a document for mutual recognition between Kosovo and the state of Serbia. That's what analyst Dusan Janic said on the Balkan Talks show at Euronews Albania. Janiq has confirmed that there is a draft of the United States of America, asking Serbia to recognise Kosovo state.

I stay, but there are some changes, and I know that the term "Noon Paper" is famous for the Balkans and I use it, and for Alexander Vucic or other people. This same time, I spoke of American or Congressman experts using the basis for future dialogue. According to information I have, the American Congress accepted the law for the Western Balkans, and it clearly says that an agreement for mutual recognition must be reached between Kosovo and Serbia. My sources are experts and politicians,” said Janic, presented Euronews Albania.

A week ago, Western Balkan policy expert Dusan Yannaq claims that in March or April of this year, the US will present a document for mutual recognition between Kosovo and the state of Serbia.

According to Janic, the document in question will not be non-par, and that has scared Serbs.

Otherwise, Kosovo and Serbia have stepped up their agreement on the Ohrid Agreement for Brussels and the Annex in 2023, but thus far this agreement has not been implemented.

During the government's mandate, Kurti, Kosovo and Serbia held a series of meetings at the level of leaders, as well as at that of the chief negotiators, but the parties disagreed on implementing the agreement.

Dialogue between Kosovo and Serbia during 2025 has remained blocked, without any apparent progress, as connoisseurs of this process say due to domestic political developments in both countries and the lack of a stronger commitment from the European Union. Lack of forming institutions in Kosovo and political unrest in Serbia, according to them, have caused this process to be mired. Meanwhile, it is urged by the European Union to address some preconditions to Serbia, both for its responsibilities for the terrorist attack on Banjska, and also intensive lobbies against Kosovo's membership in international organisations.
