“Fighting crime and corruption” - Special procedure determines priorities for 2026

Under the leadership of Chief Special Prosecutor, Mr. Blerim Isufaj, the first meeting of the College of Special Prosecutors for 2026, in which the work assessment and results achieved during 2025 were held, and strategic priorities for the following year were set.

During this meeting, it was stressed that the special prosecutor's main focus during 2026 will be increasing efficiency and quality of investigations, with particular emphasis on tackling cases of corruption and organised crime, which continue to remain serious challenges to rule of law in the country.

Chief Prosecutor Isufaj praised the commitment and work of special prosecutors over the past year, stressing the importance of continuing professional and institutional devotion in fulfilling legal obligations. He urged intensification of efforts in prosecuting cases of high public interest, strengthening prosecutors' performance, and increasing inter-institutional co-operation.

According to him, realising these priorities is essential for strengthening rule of law and increasing citizens' trust in the justice system, guaranteeing equal and just treatment for all before the law.
