More than 87% of polling recounts highlighted changes to Podujevo Pec

Ditjona Statovci from the PDK has turned out to be 171 votes lower, Ilir Murtezajt 28 and Rhimman Rama 8.

In the AAK, Bucky Feta is out of 22 votes short, Arbnor Fazliu 16 and Lahi Brahimaj 10.

By the last day of this month, on 31 January - the entire process of recounting the December 28th vote is expected to be completed.

The closure of the recounting process of votes paves the way for certification of elections and therefore the formation of new institutions. This then affects the timing of constitutional deadlines for electing the president, adopting international agreements, and voting the budget for 2026.

After the recounting ends, the terms for complaints will begin at the Electoral Panel for Anxiety and Parashta, as well as the Supreme Court. Terms for complaints will follow the conclusion of these procedures, and following the announcement of final results by the Central Election Commission.

As the face of problems related to vote manipulation continues, the president's election is approaching. Vjosa Osmani completes the mandate at 04.04.26 and, according to the Kosovo Constitution, the successor must be resolved at least 30 days before the end of the predecessor's mandate. The highest judicial act of the state allows for the president's re-election of a second term.

After the completion of the counting process, the need for a partial and then complete recount increased.

The Central Election Commission at the meeting, held in 19,01.2026, decided on the recount of all seats in 28 municipalities.

On the morning of January 28th, a broad action by the Gjakova Prosecutor in Malisevo has been launched over allegations of counterfeiting the election result.

On the other hand, the Basic Prosecutor in Pristina, the Randa Crime Department, respectively, has issued authorisation for the Kosovo Police in order to collect information and identify possible violations by persons responsible in the voting count process in Drenas.

The prosecution has indicated that by continuing to convey the process of recounting votes for general elections held on the 28.12.2025 date, it has noted differences over the candidates' results for MPs following the completion of the recount process in the Drensian municipality.

Due to voter manipulation in Prizren, 109 decisions for 48 hours bans by Prizren's Founding Prosecutor have been issued. So 23 of them have been assigned a month-long detention measure.

The decision to recount, the CEC initially received after watching videos from cameras at the Communist Counting Centres, which have raised doubts that candidates' votes for MPs were not accurately marked on the CEC's official platform.

A problem here has been that the CEC has only seen footage of cameras watching the ballot, but not the commissioner's monitor, which has put votes in the system.

As a result, the changes have been noted because through the CEC's ballot images, the votes of a poll have been counted by hand, and after their meeting, compared to the data in the system for that location and then differentials have been observed.

Turnout in the 28 December snap elections, according to the CEC, has been 45.03%, or 900 thousand and 330 voters.

The number of citizens rightly voted in Kosovo was 1,999,204 voters, while the number of those registered to vote abroad was 77,086.

The domestic election process took place at 948 polling stations, while this process outside Kosovo was organised in 16 embassies and 13 consulates deployed in 18 different states. According to CEC data, on 29 diplomatic representations were eligible to vote 19,187 voters./Periscopi/
