Pop star Dom Lipa has denied media reports that she fired one of her managers after he tried to stop the performance of the Irish group Kneecap in Glastonbury.
Mail Online claimed Lipa had been separated from David Levy for signing a letter urging festival organiser Emily Eavis to give up the rap group for their pro-Palestinian views.
Both Lipa and her talent agency “WME” has called the story “categorically false”, saying Levy stopped working with the star in 2019.
In a statement, Lipa criticised Levy's attempt to silence Kneecap, but said the history “objectively stimulating” of Mail was “created... to promote interpretation”.
I do not forgive the actions of David Levy or other music leaders towards an artist who tells their truth,” she wrote in the Instagram.
I also cannot ignore how this is treated in the press. Not only was history completely false, but the language used by the Daily Mail has been deliberately stimulating, designed simply for bait, clearly designed to promote Internet sharing.
The “is always Free Palestine,” she added, “but using a global tragedy to sell newspapers is something that I find deeply disturbing. ”/Periscopi/
I want Lipa fired the manager for supporting Israel's Gaza war.
