According to the first police reports, there is no evidence to indicate any technical defects on the bus or in the truck. The current investigation is focused on clarifying the reason why the bus driver failed to detect the vehicle ahead of time, which led to the strong collision with the back of the trailer. The accident injured 30 of the 41 passengers on the bus. Two of them are in serious hospital condition, while four others have been sent to clinics for further examinations.
The material damage caused by the impact is estimated at around 150,000 euros.
