73 thousand envelopes from the diaspora post office vote are approved, CEC continues to count them

The Central Election Commission on Sunday morning has updated the latest data from progress achieved after six days of work after the June 7th election day.
Following the closure at the Municipal Centre's vote counting of candidates for MPs and counting the ballot from the diplomatic representation vote, the CEC is in the final phase of counting ballots.
Currently, the Counting and Results Centre is under way in the count of ballots belonging to the vote outside Kosovo, through mail, and after them also will be counted from conditional voting and by voting of persons with special needs.
In a written response, CEC spokesman Valmir Elezi has explained that 36 ballot boxes have been counted by the end of Saturday, in which ballot envelopes have been placed after their approval by the CEC voter service.
He has clarified that “according to procedures, envelopes allegedly containing balloting, following the evaluation process are arranged in ballot boxes according to municipalities where registered voters come from. By this time, 156 ballot boxes have been prepared and registered on the platform. Other ballot boxes will be added to the platform until the evaluation process of all package drawn from CEC mailbox” is completed.
Meanwhile, in terms of the process of assessment of the ballot balloting process through the mail, which has been withdrawn from the CEC from 23 mailboxes in various states, Elez has said this process is going to an end. From these mailboxes, the CEC has attracted more than 85,700 alleged ballot packages, most of which, up until now, have been assessed by the CEC's voter service, and the count of some is on the way.
Until the end of Saturday (13 June 2026) in the evaluation process are 75,590 packages, of which 72,746 have been approved, while 2,844” has been rejected, Elesi indicated.
According to the CEC, the most obvious reason why these packages were rejected is because, in 2,571 cases, the census report card is missing -- a document with unique data -- that the registered voter accepts by the CEC. Other reasons, less expressed, also relate to cases where more than one ballot, or more than one person (177), is included in a package, when the voter has sent the package from another country from where it was registered for voting (21), when only free registration card was found in the package when the stamp or stamp was missing (5), as well as in a case when the ballot was printed. According to CEC data, 42 envelopes sent incorrectly were included.
During Monday, June 8th, the process of pulling parcels belonging to the vote outside Kosovo has been completed, respectively. The withdrawal of the ballot package is made from CEC mailboxes in 22 different states, as well as from the CEC mailbox in Kosovo. Out of 23 mailboxes, more than 85700 alleged ballot packages, most of which have been assessed by the CEC's voter service so far. /KP
