This will be the third time Vienna hosts the European Song Festival, following the 1999 and 2015 organisation.
The 70th edition final will be held on 16 May 2026 in Wiener Stadthalle, the largest closed arena in Austria, while the semifinals will be held on 12 May and 14 May.

After JJ's victory at Basel on May 17th 2025 with the song “Wested Love”, Austrian public television The ORF took office to organise the upcoming competition, bringing the third trophy in their country in Eurovision history.
In this case, Vienna is equated with Copenhagen, Malmon and Stockholm as one of the cities that have hosted the race most frequently, while only Dublin, London and Luxembourg remain at the top of the list with more organisation.
In addition to the final, the city will offer a whole week of activities for fans.
EuroClub will be located at the magnificent Vienna City Hall building, where the Open ceremony will be held 10 May. Meanwhile, the municipality square will be transformed into Eurovision Village, with concerts, events and live broadcasts of the event, as in 2015.
Organisers and EBU have emphasised that Vienna, as one of the countries located in Europe's heart, is the ideal place to celebrate the 70th anniversary of Eurovision.
They have promised a grand spectacle that will unite thousands of artists, delegations, fans and journalists from around the world in a unique cultural and music experience. /Periscopi/
