The renowned stage and screen actor, Tom Troupe, is separated from life at 97, just five days after his birthday. He died of natural causes at his home in Beverly Hills, a family representative confirmed.
Troupe was known for its serial roles and movies known as “Star Trek”, “Mission: Impossible”, “My On Private Idaho” and “Cagney & Lacey”. He was also the husband of the late actress Carole Cook, with whom they shared a shared passion for the theatre in Los Angeles.
Born on July 15, 1928, in Kansas City, Troupe began his career at local theaters before moving to New York in 1948, where he studied acting with Uta Hagen. Then he served in the Korean War, where he was honoured with a “Bronze Star” medal.
In 1957 he debuted in Broadway with the role of Peter van Daan in the “The Diary of Anne Frank”, and later moved to Hollywood, where he developed a rich career in television and cinema, which lasted more than five decades.
Besides acting, Troupe was also a director and writer. He'll be remembered as a true American stage icon./Periscopi/
