In a public statement, Krasniqi has called this situation alarming and has said he well shows the failure of Kurti Government to ensure energy security for the country's citizens.
Kosovo has huge reserves of coal and existing infrastructure for local production, but citizens today, in addition to the staggering prices, are also facing uncertainty and threats to cut supply without any transparency”, he has stressed.
According to him, it is the first time since the post-war KEK is not producing at all energy -- an unprecedented fact that raises many serious questions and concerns.
On behalf of public interest, he has requested urgent clarification from the outgoing Government, raising some fundamental questions:
“Why is KEK failing to produce energy?
What are the reasons for the degradation of this strategic enterprise?
Is this the result of deliberate sabotage?
Do energy mafias and energy brokers have their hands on this?
Who will take responsibility for this crisis?
Chairman The PDK has stressed that energy is a matter of national security and that this situation requires immediate action, not reasoning or hiding responsibility.
The energy crisis in Kosovo is a direct consequence of this government's failure. The future cannot be built on the collapse of strategic sectors”, it concluded.
