With the “Welcome Home” theme tonight, the grand finale of Europe's largest song festival Eurovision will begin.
Today, Switzerland's Basil is still gathering all the lovers of European song, and a large number of the public who are present each year at the festival, but a large number of people are watching him from abroad.
The finals are held in St Jacobshall, a closed arena at Basel on Saturday, May 17th. Within the arena, international Eurovision coverage will be directed by host Hasel Brugger, Sandra Scholar and Michele Hunter.
Singer Sophie Ellis-Bextor will directly present the result of the United Kingdom jury that night after actor Ncutti Gataa withdrew from the role.
At the scene of this festival goes up “tonight The Electronic Shkodra” representing Albania with the song “Zyerm”. The song is performed by Beatrice George and Cole Laca.
A total of 37 countries are participating in Eurovision 2025 ʹ all but one participated in last year's Malmö festival, Sweden.
Montenegro is back in the competition this year for the first time since 2022, replacing Moldova, which withdrew due to financial and logistical challenges.
Most Eurovision countries are European, but Australia participates annually after being invited to join the 60th anniversary of Eurovision in 2015. However, Australia cannot be the host if it ever wins.
Other non-European countries, including Israel, participate because they are members of the EBU.
