My message to authorities in Belgrade is clear. I want to see Serbia progress towards the EU. For this, political leaders must make necessary reforms and clarify strategic direction. This is best done by restoring trust and sticking to democratic principles”, Callas wrote on X.

Kallas landed at Belgrade airport last night where he was hosted by Foreign Affairs Minister Marko Djuric. She later met with President Aleksandar Vuciq, who, in announcing the meeting, said he had discussed “with him for key geopolitical themes, the security situation in the region, Serbia's European path, as well as dialogue between Belgrade and Pristina”.

Kallas' visit to Serbia comes after the visit the Serbian president had to Moscow and the meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin. There were reactions to that effect in Brussels, where the EU was asked for a clearer attitude towards Serbia./Periscopi/
