The group for Jury and Political Studies has called on political parties to establish institutions as soon as possible, saying that as a result, Kosovo cost them non-membership in the Council of Europe.
In a response Wednesday, G The LPS said the Committee of Ministers of the Council of Europe met in Luxembourg for the annual meeting, but discussed the requirements for Kosovo membership, adding that this situation came “as a result of the inability of parliamentary political forces”.
On May 13th and 14th, the Council of Europe Committee of Ministers gathered in Luxembourg at their annual meeting. Unfortunately, Kosovo's membership application, which has been held hostage since last year, was not discussed. This situation comes in between, as a result of the inability of parliamentary political forces to compromise the formation of a legislature and stable government following the February 9th elections of this year”, it is said in response, Periscope.
This organisation has added that the non-compliance of the Assembly is costing Kosovo integration aspirations. She said the failure to apply could delay voting for May 2026.
GLPS also cited the possibility of Russia's membership in the Council of Europe, where it said it would prevent Kosovo's membership.
“GLPS wants to recall that with no application treatment now, the next vote is postponed for May of next year. Taking into account the context of the war at the end of Ukraine, it is not far from mind until May of next year that Russia is reinstalled as a member of the KiE, which would practically be unable to membership our country in this organisation. Therefore, the GLPS takes advantage of once again calling for political responsibility from all parliamentary political forces and the speediest establishment of stable, strong and stable institutions to maintain the country's long-term political, economic and financial interest”, it says in response.
