The Executive Director of the FOL Movement, Medjide Demolli-Niman, said in an interview for Online Economy that this situation diminishes commitment to European integration.
We are unfortunately, not in the best possible situation Kosovo would have to be. We are still under sanctions from the EU, the move it looks like without a government formed will not start to leave. Unfortunately, not even after three months of holding elections, we continue to have no constitutional decision, much less government. Thus, it is not the best situation, in which Kosovo should be on this marked day, Europe Day”, she said.
Demolli-Niman stressed that the lack of institutional progress directly jeopardises Kosovo's European perspective, including the goal of membership in the Council of Europe, one of the country's key goals.
So much more when we have a lot of work to do if our aim is towards integration into European institutions, as is membership in the Council of Europe, which unfortunately is behind us. We know what happened last year, and what it looks like this year will not be likely to proceed with application”, she told EO./Periscope/
