Ukraine's Economy Minister, Yulia Svrydenko, said the memorandum of intent paves the way for what she called an agreement for economic co-operation, BBC television reports.
The verbal public clash between presidents Donald Trump and Voldymyr Zelensky at the White House in February had temporarily removed talks on reaching this pact from track, broadcast Periscope.
The Ukrainian minister announced the signing of the memorandum on the X network, but did not offer further details. In her post, photographs were published where she and US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent were signing off.
“We are happy to announce the signing, with our American partners, of a Purpose Memorandum, which paves the way for an Economic Co-operation Agreement and the establishment of the Investigative Fund for Reconstruction of Ukraine” wrote Mrs. Svrydenko.
The signing of the document was made through a distance connection with Secretary Bessent, who said he was still working on the details of the agreement.
