A few hours after Osmani made her request public, incumbent Finance Minister Iron Murati took on the approach of submitting the request from the president. He has said that the president's request was made public in social media only three minutes after being forwarded to the government.
“Today after regular working hours, I read in the news that the country's president has asked the Government to suspend fees on US-born products. The email request was submitted to the Government's address at 17:39, while this was made public on the social X network at 17:42, just 3 minutes later”, he wrote on Facebook.
Murati has said that the serious state treats these issues away from the media “and the public is reported when the decision is made”. “For the most part, fiscal policies fall in the executive area, namely the ministry responsible for finance”, has written further.
Bekim Kupina, a media adviser to the president, has immediately retaliated. It has said that Murati is the last person in Kosovo who can speak of seriousness, Cupina has called Murat's reaction shameful, scandalous, and basicly disrespectful.

American President Donald Trump has announced the new tariffs to the business partners of the United States and has said they will enter into force at midnight (from Thursday).
On published lists of states that the United States has imposed fees, Kosovo figures at 10 per cent fees. Other countries in the region also figure at this rate of tariffs: Albania 10%, Montenegro 10%, Serbia 37%, North Macedonia 33%, Bosnia and Herzegovina 35%. /Periscope
