PDK holds the regular chairmanship meeting: Kosovo needs new institutions as soon as possible
Pristina, April 2nd Democratic Party of Kosovo has held today its regular chairmanship meeting, where it was discussed political developments in the country following the February 9th elections, as well as the next steps following the appointment date of the Parliament's Constitution by the president of the Republic on April 15th.
Democratic Party of Kosovo Chairman Memli Krasniqi briefed members of the Headship for recent communications with parliamentary parties, except the ruling parties ( VV, Guxo and Alternatives. He stressed that if the party that came first in the elections fails to form the necessary majority, The PDK is willing to assume its responsibility in forming the new government, with Bedri Hamza leading the executive.
In this process, The PDK will act fully in accordance with the Constitution and democratic principles, without taking any blockive action or attempts that would violate institutional functioning at the constitutional session.
“We have clear objectives for economic development, recovery and strengthening relations with our strategic partners, as well as advancing the Euro-Atlantic integration process. The PDK has the capacity and vision to move Kosovo forward”, Chairman Krasniqi said.
For his part, PDK's candidate for prime minister, Bedri Hamza, reiterated his commitment to life the vision of a more developed and better Kosovo for all its citizens.
At the conclusion of the meeting, the Democratic Party of Kosovo voiced the position that the country should have new institutions as soon as possible so as to address key issues for citizens and move forward in meeting state priorities.
Prior to the chairmanship meeting, Democratic Party of Kosovo Chairman Memli Krasniqi has met today all PDK elected deputies at a working lunch. During the meeting, they have discussed in detail the party's preparations and positions regarding the constitutional session on April 15th, focusing on future steps and parliamentary group priorities.
