After the February 9th elections, Kosovo's Assembly has been called at the constitutional session on April 15th 2025, in order to launch the new legislature by verifying the mandates of the new deputies. Vetevendosje Movement officials who are in government positions and who have been elected MPs did not resign from their positions in the executives until that step was rejected by the PDK, the AAK's LDK. Thus, the report for verifying the mandate of MPs was not approved.
The same report was not adopted at the April 17th session either, after Parliament's oldest MP, Avni Dehari, interrupted the session to continue on Saturday.
President Vjosa Osmani, in response to a Dehar letter after the failure of the first session, has asked MPs not to block the constitution through the continuation of sessions every 48 hours.
