LDK-elect MP Armend Zemaj has reacted to allegations of VV deputies that the opposition is trying to block the functioning of institutions, saying it is <x0 immoral and ridiculous” to be said to be required to abandon them.
Because to tell someone who's asking to abandon institutions because he's asking you as an individual, it's groundless. There are 48 VV deputies who are ministers and prime minister. Kurti has been able to hand the powers over to the deputy prime minister, who is also in office, and no one would have charged her,” has declared Zemaj.
He has stressed that the ministers would have to act as well, overcoming the powers of deputy ministers so as to avoid constitutional clashes over the incompatibility of functions.
Zemaj, has declared that the opposition problem is not with Albin Kurti as a person, but with his attempt to hold two functions simultaneously -- that of the prime minister and MP.
The “does not prevent Kurti as an individual, but Albin Kurti is prime minister of Kosovo, and the MP elected in the recent parliamentary elections” has declared Zemaj on the Dbat Plus show.
He has stressed that Kosovo's Constitution prohibits holding two irreconcilable functions and requires clear division of powers something that Kurti according to him is not respecting.
The “Kurti seems to have a problem with the normal functioning of power sharing. And it is not but an example, but it is the best example. The effort to hold the executive mandate against winning the MP's mandate is unreasonable, unnecessary, and constitutes a clear constitutional violation”, Zemaj has declared.
He has added that this situation should not be tolerated and that any politician receiving the mandate must clearly choose between legislative and executive powers, respecting the law and the Constitution of the Republic. /Periscope
