PDK deputy candidate Nait Hasani has declared that the opposition is ready to form the government after the confirmation of the 9 February election results.
According to him, if the first party fails to secure the majority within 10 days, then the opposition will take responsibility for creating the new government.
We hope to make the numbers and form the government as soon as possible.
We have a Constitutional decision that allows the second one to make the government, if the first one cannot. Because we've had a blockade in previous years and it's been sought by the Constitutional Court, and that decision is worth every time. If he is unable to meet the criteria and numbers in 10 days to make the government, of course he should be given second chance.
So the second ones have numbers as opposition, 64 numa accounts for the opposition. And so I believe that the opposition will form the government”, Hasani said on a direct line on FIVE's show.
Speaking of reports between the opposition and the ruling party, Hasan expressed sceptical about the possibility of co-operation, citing the incumbent Prime Minister Albin Kurti's rhetoric as a reason.
“Opposition parties have a co-operation, they need to find or find co-operation on the basis of the country's interest, while in relation to the ruling party I do not believe there will be harmony and co-operation, because Kurt's statements have been so serious that they do not allow a chance of co-operation. He called them 60 for the citizens' sake, he called them assholes, so the assholes can't go to the government. In the PDK, he will not find a man who will join him”, Hasani said at FIVE of Dukagjin.
According to the Central Election Commission (KQZ), the Vetevendosje Movement (LVV) has won 396,022 votes, or 42.27% of the electorate, securing 48 seats in the Assembly. However, this result makes forming a government difficult without a coalition.
The PDK, which has come in second with 196,353 votes (20.96%), will have 24 deputies. The Democratic League of Kosovo (LDK) has secured 171.249 votes (18.28%) and will have 20 mandates, while the AAK-Nisma coalition has received 66.226 votes (7.07%) and will be represented by eight deputies.
For the first time, the Serbian List has not secured the 10 seats guaranteed for the Serb community, stopping on nine mandates. Meanwhile, a country from the Serb community has been won by Nenad Rashiqi's party, which served as minister at the Kurti II Government.
