Special does not allow Hashim Thaci to attend father's funeral

The Special Court has not granted permission to former President Hashim Thaci to attend his father's funeral ceremony.

The news was disclosed by the Association of Veterans of the Kosovo Liberation Army, who expressed indignation with this court ruling, reports Periscope.

Kosovo's Liberation Army Veterans' Organisation expresses its indignation and deep revolt against the unjust, non-human and unacceptable decision of the Special Court, which has refused the release of our fellow fighter, former President Hashim Thaci, to participate in the mortore ceremony and bid his father last farewell.

This decision is not only a flagrant violation of basic human rights but also an act that conflicts with the universal values of humanity and justice. To stop a son from giving his father his last honor is a painful act that violates mankind's deepest dignity and feelings.

The Special Court's Veterans' Association of the KLA considers this action as a deliberate and malicious act of the Special Court, aimed at humiliating and degrading not only Hashim Thaci and his family, but all the former fighters and values they fought for, in revenge for the lack of evidence for incriminating and punishing KLA leaders.

We call on international institutions, human rights organisations, institutions and the political factor of Kosovo and Albania to react strongly to this violation of fundamental rights and to take measures that such cases do not repeat, because fundamental rights should not be the object of abuse or revenge.

The Association of Veterans of the Kosovo Liberation Army will not tolerate the silence of the institutions of the Republic of Kosovo against violations, abuses and derogatory treatment being done to our fellow fighters by the Special Court in The Hague!
