With a strong and authoritarian presence in defence, Leka's transition marks an important moment in his new career, as he now has the opportunity to further develop into one of the best youth academies in Europe.
FC Familyão, which won the U19 Portuguese League title in 2023, is known for the development of players and has produced many high-level talents.
The club competes in Primeira League, Portugal's highest professional football league and one of the strongest leagues in Europe, providing a competitive environment for academy players to advance towards the first team.
The Leka crossing at the academy comes as part of the club's commitment to identifying new stars destined for success in European football.
During his time in MLS Net, Leka has shown his extraordinary talent and skill, gaining recognition as one of the most prominent defenders of his age group.
He received invitations from some prestigious clubs. He was invited to try Columbus Crew, last year's MLS league champions, where he impressed the trainers with his strength and technical ability. Prior to that, he was invited to evidence with two of Portugal's most popular clubs, FC Porto and SC Braga, further showing its potential and drawing attention to some of Europe's most popular academys.
In 2024, Leka's career took a major step forward when he was selected to represent the national U16 of Kosovo, the country from which his parents came. Leka was born on February 19th 2008, just two days after Kosovo declared its independence.
He had an immediate impact on the international stage, marking a goal for his country during a competitive match. His debut with the national of Kosovo further strengthened his status as a rising star in the football world. Leka continues to be called regularly with the nationals of the Kosovo age.
Leka Podvorica made a big contribution to the U16 Kosovo triumph at the UEFA tournament in Tirana, which “ardians won last year.
