Minister Vitia urged to suspend drug price decision

According to the OFK, this decision has caused crisis in the health system and the pharmaceutical market, as well as affected the citizens' quality health service.

It also says that the OFK is constantly being pressured by its members and citizens for the problems they are facing in the absence of essential drugs.

The Kosovo pharmaceuticals' “Oda (OFK) expresses deep concern over the lack of drugs, including the essential ones in the public and private sector, which have caused crisis in the health system and is affecting citizens' quality health service, crisis that has emerged as a result of the Ministry of Health's decision on the price of medicines. The OFK is constantly being pressured by our members and citizens for the problems they are facing in the absence of essential drugs, which are vital to the health of patients and to normal functioning of the health system. The OFK has long warned the Minister of Health well before making the decision that such a method of work would cause this chaos in the pharmaceutical market, affecting the safety of our citizens. The OFK considers that these alone are the first results of this crisis, which will only get worse.

In this context, the Oda of Kosovo pharmaceuticals calls urgent for the Ministry of Health to, after repeated rejections of our invitations for co-operation, put public interest in personal interests and reflect on this serious situation.

The OFK invites the minister of Health for the sake of citizens' health and to avoid further deterioration of the situation to suspend the decision immediately in question so that these problems, which have already been faced as a result of this decision, thus ensuring the continued supply of the market and citizens with essential drugs.

The OFK as every time it has shown its readiness now 1 year, is on 24-hour alert for offering MSH solutions to eliminate these professional problems.”, said in response.
