Macedonian authorities: In Kocan's “Puls” there have often been clashes, only 2 cases reported last year

Police have not provided any more details about these allegations, but Kocani residents say there have been other incidents at this discotheque that have not been denounced. Discoteca has been operating over the years with forged licenses and has not met even the basic operating conditions, without hydrants, without sufficient numbers of fire devices, and there have been no emergency exit doors, such as the 16 March case, when the building was burned down in just a few minutes. They are all accused of serious acts against public security, which envision prison sentences of between three and 20 years. One person, an economy ministry employee who has approved the operation of discotheque, has been denounced for taking the bribe, even though he has known that the license is forged. Among these persons in custody are former Economy Minister Kreshnik Bekteshi, former market Inspectorate Director Goran Trajkovski, Kocan municipality chairman in the resignation Lupco Papazov, and his predecessors Ratko Dimitrov and Nikollco Iliev.
The former director of the Directorate for Protection and Salvation, Bekim Maxuti, and former state secretary at the Ministry of Economy Razmena Cekic, also ended up behind the bars. The group of prosecutors working on the case has expanded to 11 investigators, who are expected to interview more than 300 witnesses. Meanwhile, police have also searched the home of discotheque owner “Puls”, while unofficially his wife and daughter have been questioned.
