The Kremlin has again reacted to the war in Ukraine and the clash between Presidents Donald Trump and Volodyr Zelensky at the White House.
According to foreign media, spokesman Dmitry Peskov said the White House public crash between Donald Trump and Voldymyr Zelensky showed how difficult it will be to reach a solution to the war.
He said European leaders would have to make a lot of effort “with Washington to wash up the unpleasant “ ” of Zelensky's meeting with Trump.
Analysts say the public quarrel has been used perfectly in Moscow's hands, which is working to discredit Zelensky and undermine his legitimacy, writes A2 CNN.
Former Russian President Dmitry Medvedev said Zelensky had received a “strong-assering” in Washington, while Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said it was a miracle Trump and JD Vance had refrained themselves from striking the Ukrainian president.
London Summit Helps Continue War
Peskov also said promises made by European leaders at yesterday's summit in London to raise funds for Kiev would not bring a peaceful end to the conflict.
He said the summit results, including a 1.6 billion-pound deal for British air defence missiles, would allow hostilities to continue, adding that it is critical that Zelensky is forced to change his position and seek peace.
This clearly does not involve a peace plan”, but will allow “the continuation of hostilities”, he said, writes A2 CNN.
Any constructive initiative (for peace) will now be required. It's very important that someone force Zelensky himself to change his position. He does not want peace. Someone has to make Zelensky want peace”, he said further.
