Eugen Cakoli from the coalition of non-governmental organisations Democracy in Action has published projections to divide mandates in the Kosovo Assembly, when more than 30% of the votes by mail have been counted.
He wrote on Facebook that according to this trend, LVV is close to providing 49 mandates, while the LDK is close to receiving an MP mandate. The PDK could lose a seat in the Assembly.
With more than 30% of votes counted by mail (set by votes from regular polling and diplomatic missions) these are the projections of the division of mandates in the Kosovo Assembly. What stands out is an extremely positive performance of the LDK, a PDK weakness. The LVV continues to be the first with most of the votes by mail, but it is obviously far from the level of support as if in votes in the <x0) diplomatic missions, Calkoli wrote.
“Anyway, the voting counting process is continuing, and the remaining vote trends may bring some of these changes:
LVV is close to securing 49 mandates, but to achieve that, it must win over 60% of all votes by mail. With the current trend, this is possible, but not guaranteed.
The LVV can reach even 50 mandates, if it wins around (+) 70% of the vote by mail. With until now trends, this is difficult, but possible.
With such a trend, the LDK is only a few hundred votes away to get another mandate from the PDK, and if it continues to perform well in votes by mail, it could reach 21 mandates.
If the LDK grows even further, this could affect LVV's chances of securing 49 mandates.
The PDK is in critical areas between 23, 24 and 25 mandates. It's actually on 24 mandates, but near T'a loses one. And even if LVV goes to 50 mandates, The PDK could lose another mandate.
To have 25 mandates, The PDK should have more than 13% of the vote by mail, which is nearly double the percentage it currently has”, he added.
Despite these projections, he stresses that the final result remains open, since the number of votes by mail has shown preferences vary depending on the municipalities”.
“in this last phase, any slight change in the remaining votes could affect the final distribution of” mandates, Cakolli wrote.
