The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, the Ministry of Health and Social Protection, the Interior Ministry, the National Canabis Control Agency in Albania and the allowed subjects are tasked for implementing this decision.
This year it is also designed to launch the license of subjects that will be allowed to cultivate cannabis.
On January 10th, the government determined the criteria and rules for the cultivation of cannabis.
The Council of Ministers' decision notes that land parcels for the cultivation of cannabis plants for medical and industrial purposes cannot extend within the border of protected zones, priority areas for the development of tourism, forests, pastures, meadows, military areas and those designated as an urban system in local territory planning documents.
Furthermore, the government's decision states that these parcels for the cultivation and growth of cannabis should be at least three miles [3 km] off the air route from bee parks, military areas and property in charge of the Ministry of Defence management.
