“announced that at 9: 00 p.m., the numbering process of more than 15 thousand and 500 ballots from conditional voting and the voting of persons with special needs, which are also the latest ballots to be counted and belonging to the election process for the Assembly of the Republic of Kosovo, held on February 9, 2025. According to Article 105 of the Law for General Elections, the CEC is obliged to wait at least 48 hours before announcing the final results of the Kosovo Assembly elections. This article, envisions the possibility that in PZAP, within 48 hours of the alleged violation, complaints were filed about the counting management that was conducted at the Counting and Results Centre. Today, it is the last day that here in the QNR there has been management of the ballot counting, so this deadline is also calculated from today, March 5, 2025, 21:00”, Elez said.
This process, expected to be completed by 7:00 on Wednesday, has ended with two hours late.
Because of this delay, it became a box that could not be counted after problems in the system.
On Wednesday, conditional and limited persons' votes have been counted.
A day earlier, Central Election Commission spokesman Valmir Elez has said there are about 15 thousand votes on bail, while the number of votes of persons with special needs is evidently lower.
He has added that the Electoral Panel for Anxiety and Parastance has made a decision Tuesday to calculate valid some ballot papers that, during the numbering process at the QNR, have been deemed invalid on the part of the counting teams.
