The ambassador of Great Britain to Kosovo, Jonathan Hargrees, has stressed the importance of close co-operation between the Government of Kosovo and international partners within dialogue with Serbia, to enable the removal of measures imposed by the European Union.
On TV Dukagjini, Hargreaves has declared that Kosovo must continue to fulfil its obligations within the dialogue, including implementation of the Brussels and Ohrid agreements.
“We are not part of the EU and we cannot speak on their behalf about how these measures should be removed, but what we know is that we will co-operate closely with Kosovo and encourage it to be as constructive in dialogue with Serbia. This is the best way to ensure that the measures are removed and EU member states welcome the positive steps of Kosovo,”, the ambassador said.
He also stressed that in a broader context of European security, it is important that the Western Balkans play a constructive role in regional stability.
According to Hargreeves, Kosovo must move forward with its pledges for Association and implementation of agreements reached in dialogue.
This will help Kosovo establish a positive tone in the dialogue process with Serbia and advance in terms of European integration”, it concluded.
