On this day, March 13th 1999, Serbian forces attacked with mines and the market was packed with people, while six citizens, among them, had children and women, while 128 were injured.
Representatives of municipal institutions and other associations in Mitrovica, family members of victims and martyrs, as well as other citizens, each year gather at the scene in honour of the victims of the market massacre in Mitrovica.
The health and psychological consequences of this attack by the Serbian Army and police still suffer many of those who were on the market that day.
