Prime Minister Edi Rama has announced an emergency meeting at Skenderbej Square, with Tirana municipality employees today at 16:30.
Sources for A2 CNN suggest the meeting comes after the arrest of Mayor Erion Veliaj, on charges of corruption and abuse of office.
We remember that last week, Rama held meetings with Tirana Deputy Mayors, where the delegation of Veliaj Mayor's firm at Anuela Ristani was placed.
We also remember that many municipal employees, but also Veliaj's sympathies, last week during the trial hearing against the mayor, went out to protest before SPAK in his favour.
