Germany, Britain, France, Spain, China and several other states have come up against American President Donald Trump's proposal that the United States take over Gaza and that the population of the enclave be displaced elsewhere.
Germany's Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock said in a statement: “A shift of Palestinian civilian population from Gaza not only would it be unacceptable and against international law. This would also lead to new suffering and new hatred”, reports the paper. “The Times of Israel”.
The German top diplomat added that there should be no solution “over Palestinian heads” and that the only solution remains with two states.
Against the White House head's proposal, the United Kingdom also emerged. Great Britain Foreign Secretary David Lamy, at a press conference during his visit to Kiev, Ukraine, said: “We have always been very clear in our belief that we should see two states. We should see Palestinians live and prosper their homelands in Gaza and the West Coast. ”
Spain expressed similar attitudes. Spain's Foreign Minister Jose Manuel Albares said: “I want to be very clear about this: Gaza is Gaza Palestinian land and they must stay in Gaza. ”
“Gaza is part of the future Palestinian state Spain supports and should co-exist by guaranteeing the well-being and security of the Israeli state” he added.
Earlier Wednesday, the newspaper <x0 National>” reported that against the shift of Palestinians from Gaza, Saudi Arabia and France have also emerged. Days earlier, Egypt expressed the same attitude.
