Former Kosovo President Hashim Thaci has also been rejected for humanitarian visit to Kosovo by the judge of the preliminary procedure in the case against justice administration.
In response to Tv1, Angela Greep, spokesperson for Kosovo Specialised Chambers ( DPSK) in The Hague has said that after Thaci's father has been released from the hospital and there is no danger for life then this decision has been taken after Thaci has shown no reason for his provisional release.
“Z. Thaci has submitted a request for provisional release on February 14th 2025 for humanitarian reasons. Balancing all relevant factors, including the procedure phase, the charges facing Mr. Thaci and the fact that Mr. Thaci has been released from the hospital and there is nothing showing that his condition is, at this moment, an acute crisis or life risk, the judge of the procedure found that, under current circumstances, Mr. Thaci has shown no reason for his provisional release”, said in response.
Otherwise, Thaci had sought through his defence his provisional release to Kosovo for one day so that he could be allowed to visit his father.
