The German government has expressed readiness to send military troops to a peacekeeping mission in Ukraine.
A defence ministry spokesman said Berlin could be engaged in such a framework, though stressed that it is still early to go into detail on concrete proposals.
These statements follow comments by British Prime Minister Keir Starmer, who indicated willing to deploy British troops to Ukraine if a peace agreement with Russia is reached.
Meanwhile, Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk has indicated that Poland has no plans to contribute soldiers to such a force.
These developments are expected to be discussed at the summit of European leaders currently held in Paris. Chancellor Olaf Scholz told the media that no concrete decision is expected from the talks, but stressed the need for a clear and strong stand by Europe for Ukraine. /euronews
