DP: Veliaj must be downloaded

Democratic Party Councillors head Ilir Alimehmeti said his position in office is in full opposition to the Constitution and any law in power.

Dear citizens of Tirana and Albania!

Yesterday we all saw the defence of former Mayor Erion Veliaj, on the part of Prime Minister Edi Rama, and how this protection actually had the purpose of taking local government by the prime minister himself.

He plainly declared that he would be Tirana's remote mayor at full opposition to the Constitution and any law in power in Albania or in the West.

He also formally appointed the newly-elected Mayor of Tirana, again in full opposition to the Constitution and any law in power.

Very clearly, it is determined that central power and local government are independent of each other and that determining their leaders comes only through the vote and representative bodies selected through it.

Clearly, law 139/2015, Article 7 quotes the municipality representative as the Municipal Council. )

Very clearly, Article 54 of the same law quotes that: The Municipal Council protects and guarantees public interest. )

That means, very clearly, that the task in this case belongs to the mayor of the Municipal Council, Mrs. Romina Kuko, who is silent, as well as 60 other members of the Municipal Council elected through the vote.

With this attitude, Edi Rama has not been brought as prime minister, not even as head of a party, but as head of a Party of State, as he has long done under the influence and continued support of the two Soross.

Why does the Prime Minister have such unconstitutional behavior?

Because it is clear that the extortion of Tirana and its citizens was carried out not only by former Mayor Veliaj, in isolation, but with his blessing, support and common interest.

Because he is clear that the imprisonment of the Socialist Party's 2 de facto number, Veliaj, is a strong blow to this party and its own chairman.

Because he's clear that he needs to ease the formation within his socialist camp after launching the next number two, as he did with government number two, Ahmetaj.

Because it is clear that the political situation within the Socialist camp is slipping from control, three months before parliamentary elections.

These actions are only in the interest of the prime minister himself and anyone else.

We want to use the same standard that was used in the Elvis Roche case in Cavaja, Shukri Jellili in Debar, Safet Gjici in Kukes, George Goro in Himara, etc. For violations in the Magnitude much lower than Veliaj, these former mayors have been dismissed or have been called for resignation to pave the way for local elections, as stipulated by law.

So, we seek, reform the Constitution and law, the dismissal of former mayor Tirana, and resolving the problem created by the Rama-Veliaj pair through the free vote of Tirana's stolen citizens.

Tirana needs strong, sustainable solutions and change. The Renaissance that brought her clinical death does not offer that solution.
