Prime Minister Albin Kurti has failed to break President Vjosa Osmani's record by vote in this year's elections.
According to the current vote count, Kurti received 222 thousand and 382 votes in this election.
Osman continues to remain the most voted person in Kosovo's history with 300 thousand and 756 in the 2021 elections when he ran a joint list with Kurti by a margin of 78 thousand and 374 votes more than Kurt received this year.
Kurti then could not enter his party's election list for the extraordinary parliamentary elections held on February 14th, because then the Supreme Court had decided that anyone convicted in the last three years with a court decision on a clear scale could not compete in the elections.
Albin Kurti was sentenced for dropping tear gas on the Kosovo Assembly in 2015.
However, the number 1 on Vetevendosje's list remained empty, while Osman managed to raise votes by keeping number 2 on the list.
Osman and Kurti had signed an agreement in January 2021 to compete on a common list while agreeing also on positions for Osman to lead the presidency and Kurti as prime minister.
