The results come out: Renowned Turkish actors result in positive with banned substances

In early October, Istanbul authorities launched a broad investigation into allegations of drug use, where many prominent Turkish showbiz figures were summoned to undergo drug tests in what is being described as the biggest anti-narcotics operation in the country's history.

The operation, conducted on 8 October, has deeply shaken Turkey's entertainment industry. Popular names of screen and music have been questioned on charges of using narcotic substances, while after tests most of them have been released.

However, the situation took chaotic proportions after the flow of drug “tests carried out over 19 public persons before they were officially verified. According to local media, “results were published on media networks and portals before they were included in the General Prosecutorial File or registered in the electronic judicial system. ”

According to Haberler report, from tests conducted:

• Eight people have resulted in positive use of narcotics,

• While four others have proved positive for the use of prescription drugs.
