An urgent vote on Israel's participation in the Eurovision Song Contest has been cancelled following developments in the Middle East, the European Broadcasting Union (EBU) said.
The contest organisers had planned “an extraordinary meeting of the general assembly to be held online” in early November, as some countries said they would no longer participate in Eurovision if Israel participated.
The EBU said in a statement that after the latest “developments in the Middle East”, the executive board had agreed yesterday that there should be a face-to-face discussion among members “on the question of participation in the Eurovision Song Festival 2026”, the Kankosova broadcasts. tv
He said the issue was now added to the agenda of the General Winter Assembly, which will be held in December.
