Democratic Party leader Sali Berisha has been released from house arrest “on 27 November 2024. The Special Court has handed down the decision to revote the security measure “house arrest” for Berisha. This decision was made by Judge Floyd Davidhi. DP leader Genc Gjokutaj's lawyer stated that day that no other security measures have been allocated to Berisha. He added the same day that the prosecution demanded that Berisha remain in the <x4 house arrest>”.
December 30, 2023 The Special Court announced that it had imposed house arrest measures on Berisha, who is being investigated along with his groom, Jamarber Malltezi (currently under house arrest “on the privatisation issue of the former sports complex Partizan.
Earlier, Sali Berisha has rejected the measures given by the SPAK -- that of forcing the presentation and baning of going abroad -- viewing the measures as unconstitutional. Following the failure to comply with these measures, the Special Framework tightened Berisha's security measure, leaving it at <x0) house arrest”.
The Special Court ordered Berisha not to leave his residence and not to communicate with other persons except those who co-exist with him in the same apartment, while in implementing this move the SPAK and judicial police services were charged.
