The United States has allocated almost 70 billion dollars in foreign aid during the 2023 fiscal year, most through the American Agency for International Development, USAID. Washington offers most of the world's humanitarian aid, including for treating HIV virus patients through presidential programme P EPFAR.
Former USAID Director Samantha Power in a video agency says USAID, among other things, has reacted to 84 crises in 66 countries helping tens of millions of people.
President Donald Trump blocked most of these aides in an attempt to verify whether they fit his policy, the “American of Pre”. The presidential order temporarily bans aid for 90 days as the revision is carried out. /euronews
