According to today's census figures, 9 out of 10 cars sold in Norway are fully electrical, placing the site close to its target to only increase electric vehicles on the road by 2025.
Total electric vehicles accounted for 88.9% of new vehicles sold in 2024, compared to 82.4% in 2023, according to data from the Norwegian Federation of Traffic (OFV).
“Norwegia will be the first country in the world to practically eliminate vehicles with gasoline engines and oil from the market of new cars, said Christina Bu, head of the Norwegian Association of Electric Autos.
