The far-right party, “Fuia Cifute”, has announced that it is leaving the Israeli government in protest of the ceasefire agreement, leaving the prime minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, with only a parliamentary majority.
National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir, along with Yitzhak Usserlauf and Amicha Eliyah, delivered their resignation papers Sunday morning, the BBC reports.
Ben-Graver has long been a vocal opponent of the ceasefire agreement and has prompted Israel to continue its military operation against Hamas in Gaza.
In his letter of resignation, Ben-Gvir has said he would not work to overthrow the government, but called the ceasefire agreement a <x0fitre total to terrorism”.
