Serbia's President Aleksandar Vuciq has said on Friday that there is no satisfactory solution for Serbs for, as he has said, “the Kosovo and Metohija problem”, while warning of taking measures to do so.

There is no such miracle worker who can bring a good solution to Kosovo and Metohija to Serbs. I admit it. Although I am the president who mostly held talks”, Vuciq said in a speech to the people, warned days ago.

According to a document that has been distributed to the media before the launch of the Serbian president's speech, Serbia requires the removal of the main consequences of unilateral and uncoordinated actions” of the Kosovo Government, led by Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti.

As noted, this is the “prerequisite necessary for a meaningful progress” in the dialogue process between Kosovo and Serbia.

According to the document, Belgrade will start, <x0) global diplomatic campaign” to achieve the requirements.

Serbia's seven demands

According to the document, Serbia seeks:

  • Declare and maintain <x1 local and democratic selection” in northern Kosovo, with the participation of the Organisation for Security and Co-operation mission in Europe (OSBE) and the supervision of the European Union.
  • The return of Serbs to the Kosovo Regional Police Directorate for the north and the return of Serbian judges and prosecutors to their judicial functions.
  • The withdrawal of Kosovo Police Special Forces from “bazas and illegally built checkpoints” in northern Kosovo.
  • The withdrawal of police from all “institutions, which from 1999 until the illegal closure in 2024, offered vital public and administrative services to citizens”.
  • Formation of Serbian majority municipalities' association
  • The immediate implementation of the European Union and the United States' <x0-garancial sub-airships from December 28th 2022, and the immediate release of all political prisoners” arrested by Kosovo Police, and
  • Performing fees with Serbian currency, dinars.

In addition to these requirements, the document mentions that Serbia's Assembly will pass a law within 45 days to the “declared the autonomous province of Kosovo and Metohija as an area of special social protection, thus guaranteeing the right to financial support the unemployed”.

Among other things, it is cited that Serbian “institutions” in Kosovo “will not be abolished or shut down” and accused of Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti, that its top political goal is to completely remove and eliminate Serbs” in Kosovo.

There, too, has been warned that in Rudnica and Ribar near the Kosovo border, offices will be opened where northern Kosovo Serbs will have access to social protection services and that they will provide vital state and administrative services to citizens.

Shortly before Vuciqi's address, Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti has said that Serbia, instead of repenting of the crimes it committed during the recent war in Kosovo, has decided to repeat threats and ultimatums to Kosovo, in co-ordination with Russia.

Through a Facebook post, Kurti has said that the approach of power in Serbia to Kosovo is “distressing”, but that Kosovo is not afraid of threats.

The macabre crimes Serbia performed in Kosovo 25 years ago are being repeated today by Russia to Ukraine and are intent on returning to the Balkan region”, Kurti has said, among other things.

During the war in Kosovo, about 13,000 people have been killed, over 800,000 displaced, while about 6,000 have disappeared, of which over 1,600 are still undiscovered.

Hundreds of victims of Kosovo Albanians have been found at mass cemetery in Serbia.
