The world has again recorded a record in the average August temperatures -- for the second time -- has shown the preliminary data of a European Union for Climate agency.
Australia, Japan, and parts of China and Norway have recorded the hottest August ever in history, according to weather agencies.
It's obvious that temperatures are rising beyond what we would like to want”, said Celeste Saulo, leader of the World Meteorological Organization.
This is happening because our action is not enough”.
Although the average global temperature for this August is unknown, the EU Weather Service has said the figure will be above last year's record 16.82 degrees Celsius.
Saulo has called for better monitoring and support from weather agencies, since he believes that “needs more resources”.
While attending a forum, she has indicated that Singapore will be the regional centre for monitoring pollution caused by the fires of hard land and smoke.
Being just one of two such centres in the world, this centre will provide more quality information on fires and pollution forecasts.
