Albania is committed to investing further in NATO's support infrastructure.
So expressed today, Albania's Defence Minister Pirro Ving, who hosted a special meeting of the United Kingdom special envoy in the Western Balkans Lord Stuart Peach, after coming to Albania, under the Joint Training “Auster Wolfe 24”, writes “Albanian”
“As Member NATO, the privileged geographical position of our country, engages us to invest further in the support infrastructure for the Alliance”, he said.
Minister Veng and Lord Stuart Peach fully praised the interaction between Albanian and British troops in the “Coridor exercise V III Response”
“III is actively working on several tears to continue with the major port project in Porto Romano, a part of which will be dedicated to military use”, he said.
During his conversation with senior British official, Minister Weng discussed the security situation in the region, including the north of Kosovo, which Albania not only welcomes the Alliance's decision to boost troops there, but also increased the presence of Albanian military in the KFOR mission.
Likewise, Veng introduced Lord Peach to the steps Albania has taken for the revival of Military Industry, inviting every British agency or company for investment and co-operation.
