At the “meeting discussed overcoming common challenges, the importance of Kosovo-German co-operation, as well as German support for our country's Euro-Atlantic integration”, as reported in the Presidency Community.
Osmani has stressed the importance of removing EU measures on Kosovo, which are unfairly affecting the country's citizens the most, the Presidency announced. Also, the meeting reportedly discussed the Berlin Process, with the cerrast “President Osmani reconsidering full support for the agreements drawn out of the process”, the communiqué says.
“President Osmani, on the eve of the official launching of the Regional Centre for Women, Peace and Security, has expressed the importance of boosting partnership with Germany for joint initiatives aimed at further advancing the Agency for Women, Peace and Security”, said in the communique.
Germany has sought to find an opportunity for Kosovo to remove security measures for Serbian goods in order to achieve reconciliation for changing the status of representation in CEFTA.
Germany's special emissary for the Western Balkans, Manuel Sarrazin, has warned that Kosovo could remain outside the Berlin Process. He says that “if Kosovo blocks CEFTA it will be very difficult to join the Development Plan and access to the EU market”.
Osmani has recently confirmed that the threat exists for Kosovo to leave the Berlin Process.
