The news has been confirmed by this prosecutor's spokesman, Shkodran Nikci.
Once we've received the information through official email in question, the case is divided to a state prosecutor who will handle the case whether there are elements of the criminal act “The violation of equal status of citizens and residents of the Republic of Kosovo”, from Article 190 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Kosovo. Once he takes all the necessary actions, then the state prosecutor will decide on the further procedures”, the announcement said.
An 11th-grader who left high school, Beadri Payani, in Pec, had announced in advance the headmistress, educators, and the entire school staff of the decision to wear the headscarf.
In her letter to the school and educational institutions, the student has stressed that she wants to exercise her right to choose religious clothing.
According to her, the suspension decision is contrary to Article 55 of the Kosovo Constitution, which stipulates that constitutional rights and freedoms can be limited only through laws, rather than through administrative guidelines.
