Sad: On Greek shores, the ship drowns with 33 people, three dead, two young girls among them

According to the Greek coast guard, a plastic boat of 33 persons on board was overturned just a few metres off the Greek island coast.

Local residents and some nearby fishermen could help 5 survivors to get ashore, but it was impossible to do something for the 3 drownings, including two young girls.

The search operation in which dozens of seaguards, helicopters, and even residents of the area with their motorboats are still taking part, but as the hours go by, hopes are disappearing.

Atmospheric conditions seem to make the situation even more difficult. Rescue teams say that the search area is rocky and has a strong current, while the troubled sea wipes out the hopes of finding immigrants.

The survivors were taken to the island hospital and the bodies of the victims at the morgue.
