Mustaf has called this move an open and ongoing persecution of the Albanian national symbol, viewing it as an act of discrimination and attempts at political intimidation against Albanians in the Presevo Valley.
“Today, after more than two years of completion of the mandate as chairman of the Albanian National Council, I was again convicted of setting up the Albanian national flag. This is absurd and persecution against our national symbol, intended to intimidate and censor those who express their national identity”, Mustafi has declared.
He stressed that this move concerns not only the flag but the right of Albanians to freely express their identity and exist as such. According to Mustaf, the hunt against the Albanian flag is part of a continuing campaign to weaken Albanians' rights and dignity in the Presevo Valley.
“Our fight for our rights continues, despite the obstacles or pressures we face, ” has added, expressing his commitment to continue protecting the rights of Albanians, despite the penalties they may face.
