Kosovo President Vjosa Osmani has responded to the Serbian president's request to hold elections in the country's north.
She has said that according to legal terms, local elections are held next year.
I'm convinced that he lied in the past and that's what he does now. I am convinced that he does not want the participation of Serbs in the institutions of the Republic of Kosovo, according to the rights they also belong to the Constitution of Kosovo, because it is Vucic exactly why they boycotted them, left those institutions. It was he who, through intimigation, force, violence, blocked Serbs from participating in early elections that were organised in northern Kosovo municipalities” that Osmani said in an interview for the Voice of America in Albanian.
According to Osmani, elections in the northern part will be held next year in the regular term.
“Now, of course, there will be new local elections, according to legal deadlines they happen the coming year” she said.
