“Pict water”: Albania's exciting Triler targets “Oscar”

This film will be the country's official candidate in the 97th edition of Academy Awards.
The news has been made known by the National Cinematography Centre (QKK), which through a media communiqué announced the Election Commission's decision. The commission met on September 17th 2024 in the QKK environments and, after an open call process, the only accepted application was that of the cinematographic home E. RAHHIM with “Pict water” The decision to send this film to Oscars was unanimously made by the commission.
In its communiqué, the QKK said: “Commission unanimously voted in favour of candidacy submitted by the cinematographic home E RAFIM for WaterPics film As Albania's representative, in the category International Religious Feature Film, in the 97th edition of OSCAR Awards ®”.
The film “Pict water” is an important product of Albanian cinematography and reflects the ongoing efforts of Albanian directors and producers to bring in stories that affect universal themes through local lens.
Director Robert Budina, a known name in the Albanian film industry, and producer Sabine Kodra, also have a rich experience in cinematography, and this project represents an excellent opportunity to present Albanian culture and talent on an international platform such as “Oscars”.
The film is Albania's co-operation with a team from Kosovo.
Gresa Palaska is in the lead, while co-scientist of the film, directed by Robert Budina, along with director and Ayla Daya, is also playwright Doruntina Basha. Kosovo's team, among other things, consists of actor Arben Bajraktaraj.
Meanwhile, the film is expected to be part of several international festivals ahead of the final selection by the Academy of Arts and Film Sciences.
With this nomination, Albania continues to show its commitment to promoting art and cinema on the global stage, being adequately represented in the world's largest film industry competition.
